Story Time

 

The Hamilton library is dedicated to fostering a love of learning and teaching research skills.  The library is staffed six hours a day by our librarian and has over 9,000 books.  All classes have scheduled library visits during which stories are read, library reference and research skills are taught, and time is made for browsing and book checkout. Grades Pre-K- 4 visit 30 minutes every week; grade 5 visits every other week for 45 minutes. The library is also open to all students in grades 1-5 every day during morning recess.

Checking Out Books

  • Kindergarteners: May check out books during their weekly visit that will remain in their classroom.
  • Students in grades 1-5: May check out books to take home provided their parent or guardian has completed the required permission slip which is sent home at the beginning of the school year.  Note that some teachers of grades 1-2 may opt to have library books remain in the classroom.
  • Parents may also register to check out books.
